Text messaging terms

How Loclis texts the businesses that work through it and the customers who book them: what the texts are, how you agree to them, how often they come, and how to stop them.

Updated October 29, 2026

The texts

Loclis job texts are for service businesses on Loclis and the people on their teams. They are about that business's own work: new repair requests in its trade and area, quotes, bookings and their times, schedule changes, change orders, cancellations, HomeCare visits, payout reminders, and messages the business's customers send it on Loclis. A business can answer many of them by replying, for example with a price, a time, OMW (on my way) or DONE.

Customers who give Loclis a mobile number get texts about their own requests and bookings, such as confirmations, quotes arriving, reminders, a booking's time being set or changed, a new price waiting for their approval, and the job being marked done. A reply to one of them changes nothing on a request or booking: a new price is approved or declined on Loclis, or with the link in its text. Loclis does not send marketing texts.

How you agree to them

A business owner or team member enters their mobile number in their Loclis account settings. Loclis then texts that number: "Loclis: reply YES to get job texts from Loclis at this number. Msg frequency varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to stop." Job texts start only after the number is verified, by sending YES from it or by entering the code Loclis texts to it on the settings page, which says that verifying is agreeing to job texts. Loclis keeps a record of when the number was verified. The sign-up box, as it appears in an account, is shown at loclis.com/legal/opt-in.

Someone who calls or texts the Loclis number to ask for a job gives a number for that request. At the end of the call the automated assistant says: "We'll text you about this request at the number you gave. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time." Texts to that number are only about that request: the confirmation, quotes, scheduling, a payment link, reminders and one review request. A quote can be accepted by replying YES.

If Loclis misses a call, the caller gets one text inviting them to reply with what they need. Nothing further is sent unless they reply.

Agreeing to texts is not a condition of using Loclis or of buying anything. Your jobs, requests and messages are all in your Loclis account whether or not you get texts, and you can choose which kinds of texts you get in your account's notification settings.

How often

Message frequency varies with how much work you have on Loclis. A business's team member is sent at most 20 job texts a day, not counting Loclis's answers to their own texts. Texts that are not urgent are held overnight, between 9pm and 8am US Eastern, and sent in the morning.

Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.

Stop, start and help

Reply STOP to any Loclis text to stop all texts to that number. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT do the same. Loclis records the opt-out and sends nothing more to that number until START is texted from it.

Reply HELP for help, or write to contact@loclis.com.

Acting on a job by text

A reply acts only for the account whose verified number sent it, and only on that account's own jobs. Anything that commits the business to a price or marks work done, such as sending a quote, a new price or DONE, is repeated back first and happens only after a reply of YES.

When a reply is not one of the fixed text commands, Loclis may use an AI model to read which command it means. Whatever the model reads is repeated back, and nothing happens until YES. Only the words of the reply and short labels for the business's open jobs (the trade, the service and the day) are sent to the model, never a customer's name, contact details or address.

Some things are never done by text: payouts and bank details, account email, password and phone number, team changes, billing, cancelling or refunding an order, disputes and review replies. A text asking for one of them is answered with where to do it after logging in.

A link in a Loclis text opens a page for that job without logging in. It works only for the person it was sent to, expires after 72 hours, and does one thing; opening it changes nothing until you press its button. Do not forward it.

Customer messages

When a customer messages a business on Loclis, the message can be texted to the one person at the business who answers it. Before the job is booked, phone numbers, email addresses, links and social media or payment handles in the message are hidden, as they are in Loclis. A text reply to it is posted into the customer's conversation in Loclis, with the same checks as a message sent from the website; the customer is not texted.

Privacy

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile numbers and text messaging opt-in consent are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Loclis sends texts through Twilio and shares a number only with Twilio and the mobile carriers as needed to deliver texts. Texts and replies are stored with the job they belong to, as described in the privacy policy at /legal/privacy.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
