Terms of use

These terms describe the relationship between you, Loclis, and the independent businesses that perform work through Loclis.

What Loclis is

Loclis operates a marketplace connecting customers with independent local service businesses. Loclis is not a service provider. It does not perform lawn care, cleaning, plumbing, HVAC, repair or any other service listed on the platform, including services included in a Loclis HomeCare membership.

Each provider is an independent business responsible for its own licensing, insurance, employees, equipment, workmanship and compliance with applicable law.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Loclis may suspend an account for fraud, abuse, non-payment, or conduct that endangers other users or providers.

Fees

Customers pay the provider's service price plus a Loclis platform and processing fee, disclosed in full at checkout before payment. Providers pay a marketplace fee on completed sales, disclosed on every transaction. Current rates are published at /pricing and may be changed with notice.

Referral credit earned by a provider is applied against that provider's marketplace fees. It has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn. Customer referral rewards are credit toward Loclis purchases, have no cash value, and may expire as disclosed at the time they are earned.

Bookings, subscriptions and cancellation

A booking is an agreement between you and the provider. Recurring subscriptions bill on the interval shown at purchase and continue until cancelled. You may cancel a subscription at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.

A Loclis HomeCare membership is a monthly agreement with Loclis. Loclis coordinates fulfillment with participating providers and may reassign a service to another eligible provider when the assigned provider becomes unavailable.

Refunds and disputes

Open a dispute from the order in your dashboard. Loclis holds provider payouts for a short period after job completion so that disputes can be resolved against real funds. Loclis may issue full or partial refunds, and reverses both the customer fee and the seller fee proportionally on any refund.

When a dispute is opened, the provider is notified and both sides may add photos and written responses to a shared thread that Loclis reads before deciding. Loclis publishes a decision date on the dispute and aims to decide by that date. Both parties are told the outcome and the reasoning.

Where credit was applied to a refunded order, the proportional share of that credit is returned. A referral reward earned on a transaction is reversed in proportion to any refund of it.

Card chargebacks

You may dispute a charge with your bank instead of with Loclis. The card network, not Loclis, decides that case. Loclis mirrors the chargeback onto the order, notifies the provider, and books the outcome when the network rules.

Because a chargeback withdraws funds for work that may already have been performed and paid out, a chargeback decided against Loclis ends any subscription or HomeCare membership that the disputed charge was paying for, and amounts already released to a provider are recovered from that provider's later payouts. Raising a dispute with Loclis first is usually faster and does not carry these effects.

Reviews and content

A review may only be written by the customer on a completed, paid order. Providers may respond publicly but cannot remove a review. Loclis may remove content that is unlawful, contains personal information, or is not about the transaction it is attached to.

You retain ownership of content you submit and grant Loclis a licence to display it on the platform.

Verification

A verification badge means Loclis reviewed a submitted document at a point in time. It is not a warranty of current licensure, insurance, or quality of work. Information a provider has stated but Loclis has not confirmed is labelled as provider-reported.

Government contracting features

Loclis GovCon AI produces assessments, drafts and recommendations. It does not make eligibility determinations, does not constitute legal advice, and does not replace an agency's official evaluation. Loclis never submits an offer on a provider's behalf without explicit human approval. Providers remain solely responsible for the accuracy of every representation, certification and price they submit to a government agency.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Loclis's liability arising from a transaction is limited to the fees Loclis collected on that transaction. Loclis is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent providers.

Changes and contact

Loclis may update these terms and will note the effective date. Questions go to contact@loclis.com.
